Editor/Communications Coordinator with Virginia Tech
Responsibilites: Write, edit and manage production of the quarterly SANREM CRSP and University newsletters. Work with SANREM CRSP and OIRED faculty, staff and partners to identify newsletter article topics, develop topics into articles, write articles, edit articles of others, lay out the newsletters and publish and distribute the finished newsletters on time and within budget.
- Plan and execute a communications strategy for the SANREM CRSP. This position is directly responsible for the writing and timely production of press releases, presentations, brochures, research briefs, annual reports, etc.
- Website administration: serve as the webmaster for the SANREM CRSP website. Responsible for designing, maintaining, and posting all SANREM CRSP publications on the SANREM CRSP website and for entering SANREM CRSP metadata into the on-line SANREM CRSP Knowledgebase.
- Assist in OIRED proposal research, writing and editing. Respond to frequent short-notice deadlines with on-time and accurate results.

Public Relations Specialist with the Dept of Conservation and Recreation
DCR's Public Communications Office (PCO) is seeking a talented Public Relations Specialist to enhance external communications to help DCR achieve its mission of conserving and protecting the Commonwealth's natural and recreational resources. The successful candidate will assist with planning, developing, monitoring, evaluating and performing public relations and marketing functions that increase public understanding of and support for DCR's programs and services, with special emphasis on Planning and Recreation Resources, Natural Heritage, and Soil & Water Conservation programs and related issues. Duties include strategic communications planning and implementation; publication/AV producation and project management; writing copy, news and scripts; and promoting DCR programs and services through media contacts and publications.

Tidewater Community College seeks candidates for two (2) new Marketing Specialist positions.
Responsibilities: These positions will support the activities of the College's Information Center operations. Respond to incoming calls and emails and help disseminate new information to other Center staff members. Also, they will provide administrative support for the Information Center Manager. Support activities include purchase requests, supply requests, creative services requests, coordination of internal and external office communications; maintain and update the high school contacts database and other databases used in the Information Center; proactively work with campus contacts to update the events calendar; respond to web requests; assist students with SIS online features; keep inventory of the mail supplies and recruitment materials; provide supervisory support in absence of Information Center Manager; plan and attend specified recruitment events.
